The Government promised to “replace” or “repeal” references to the Principles of the Treaty. So why haven’t they?
Before the election, and in formal coalition agreements, the Government committed to addressing the role of Treaty principles in New Zealand law.
A review was commissioned. A report was delivered.
But nothing has been released.
And nothing has changed.
The Government didn’t just hint at change, it committed
to it as part of forming Government.
The coalition agreement includes

We need to remind them that making promises
isn’t enough. They must deliver.
We demand clear laws, equal rights, and accountable Government. If the three parties in Government right now think they can take our vote for granted they are wrong. It is time they listened to the people who voted them in and stopped treating us as fools who won’t remember what was promised.
